Come join us on OhioSMART Third Saturday July: Beyond Boot Blacking - Hands-on with History presented by BootWitch!

BootWitch walks you through the start of BootBlacking and the impact of gear care on the Queer community. But, it's more than boots, they will cover the basics of caring for Leather, Rubber, and Neoprene. Come get your hands on some gear that needs love (or feel free to bring your own), so you know what to look for, for yourself and to ensure your local bootblack doesn’t cry on the inside when you sit for them.

Please note: Rubber and Neoprene do need a long period of time to dry. These items may be a complete at home project.

BootWitch Bio:

BootWitch is a Boot Black from Cincinnati, OH with over seven years of experience at the stand. They have provided services at events like North American Bear, Cincinnati Leather Weekend, Cincinnati Critter Contest, Iowa Leather Weekend, various community events, and private sessions. They enjoy teaching bootblacking from a perspective of care and preservation of gear and goods. They are experienced in taking care of leather, rubber/latex, and neoprene. BootWitch is always looking to expand their kit and add more information to their knowledge pool! So be sure to come strike up a conversation with them, they're open to questions that range from 101 to more advanced questions on specific pieces and aren't afraid to refer to their mentors for assistance as well.

Please note: We share our facility and parking lot with another club. On busy nights, a parking attendant in a safety vest may be present to direct your vehicle to park in a specific location. Please respect and follow the attendant's directions, thank you.
